Privacy,
in plain language.

The short version

• Trip dates and labels are stored locally on your device.
• KnowDays has no account, advertising SDK, or third-party analytics SDK, and no developer server receives your trips.
• Optional usage counts are sent only if you turn on Usage analytics in Settings. They never include trip dates, countries or labels.
• Location is used only after you request a current-country suggestion.
• Exports, optional backups and optional Pro iCloud sync happen only when you choose, and stay in your own Apple account.
• We do not sell or share personal information.

Information stored by the app

KnowDays stores the stays, countries or place labels, local arrival and departure dates, planning status, counting settings, and country-presence rules that you enter. These records are kept in the app's local container on your device.

If you track trips for other people, such as family members or travel companions, the names and stays you enter for them are stored the same way: on your device and, only if you turn it on, in your private iCloud backup or sync. Eutopix Labs does not receive them. Please record other people's travel only where you have their agreement or another legitimate reason to do so.

The developer does not operate an account system or backend that receives these records.

Optional location suggestion

KnowDays requests location permission only after you tap the control that suggests your current country. Apple's location service provides an approximate coordinate (requested at about one-kilometre accuracy). To turn it into a country, the app sends that coordinate to Apple's geocoding service, which processes it under Apple's privacy policy.

The coordinates are not stored in the ledger, are not retained after the suggestion, are not used for continuous tracking, and are not sent to Eutopix Labs. You decide whether to accept or edit the suggested country.

Optional iCloud backup

If you choose to create an iCloud backup, KnowDays writes a JSON backup to the app's private iCloud Drive container associated with your Apple account. Eutopix Labs cannot access that private file. iCloud processing is governed by your agreement with Apple.

Optional iCloud sync (Pro)

With KnowDays Pro you can turn on Sync this ledger. Confirmed stays, traveller names and tracker rules are then stored in a private CloudKit database in your own iCloud account (container iCloud.com.eutopixlabs.daycounter) so they appear on your other devices. Pending suggestions stay on the device. Only your Apple account can access this private database; Eutopix Labs cannot read it and operates no sync server. Apple processes it under your agreement with Apple.

Deleting a stay in the app also deletes it from iCloud while sync is on. Turning sync off keeps your local data and stops syncing; to remove the copy held in iCloud, delete KnowDays' data in your Apple account's iCloud storage settings (Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage storage).

Exports and sharing

PDF, CSV, JSON, image, and video exports are generated locally. They leave the app only when you select a destination through the system share interface. The privacy practices of that destination apply after you share a file.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

KnowDays does not include third-party analytics, advertising, cross-app tracking, or profiling SDKs. The travel analytics shown inside the app are calculated on the device and are not uploaded to Eutopix Labs. Optional first-party usage counts are described in the next section.

Apple ad attribution. KnowDays shows no ads, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), never shows an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Apple’s own measurement. If you install KnowDays after tapping an Apple Ads advertisement, Apple may count the install and attribute it to that ad using its own App Store measurement. Apple is responsible for that processing; see Apple’s privacy policy.

EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland. From the first update of KnowDays released after 14 October 2026, the app sends no SKAdNetwork or AdAttributionKit conversion value in these regions. Earlier versions may send the coarse, aggregate value described below in every country.

Other regions. Outside these regions (and, in earlier versions, everywhere) the app may send a coarse, aggregate conversion value through Apple’s SKAdNetwork/AdAttributionKit: a number from 0 to 3 describing progress during the first days after installation (for example opened the app, completed a task, viewed the offer, or subscribed or bought Pro). It contains no identifier, no IDFA and nothing about you, and no ATT prompt is shown. Apple passes it on delayed and combined with other installs; Eutopix Labs receives only aggregated postbacks that identify no one. Legal basis for those regions: our legitimate interest in measuring our own advertising (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR where applicable).

Optional usage sharing

KnowDays does not track you across apps or websites and does not use an advertising identifier. In versions that offer Usage analytics in Settings, you can choose to share basic counts to help Eutopix Labs improve KnowDays. Sharing is off by default and normal features remain usable without it. Counts cover app opens, successful tasks, paywall and plan choices, purchase outcomes and useful returns, plus app version, platform, UTC day and consent-cohort week. We do not send trip dates, countries, place labels, counting results, document contents, text, recordings, precise locations, financial amounts, name, email, advertising identifiers or persistent account, installation or device identifiers. Purchase outcomes are categories, not transaction identifiers or amounts; locally used transaction identifiers are not uploaded. A temporary random batch identifier recognizes retries. When you opt in, we also send a one-time coarse summary of onboarding completion, core usage (0, 1–2 or 3+ uses), whether a free limit was reached and install age (0–1, 2–7 or 8+ days), categorized by plan, when this existing local information is available. No exact counts or install dates are sent. Nothing is collected or queued for analytics before consent. Turning sharing off and later opting in can send a fresh summary.

Eutopix Labs operates the collector using Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1. The database is restricted to the European Union, but Cloudflare's network may process requests elsewhere and necessarily sees the network address during transport. The collector does not retain IP addresses, request headers or raw bodies; invocation/application logging is disabled. Cloudflare may still process infrastructure and security information under its own obligations and applicable safeguards. Requests are not guaranteed anonymous or entirely processed within the EU. No advertising personalization or cross-company tracking is added.

Unsent counts expire after 7 days. Daily cleanup removes retry identifiers older than 8 days and aggregate counts older than 400 days. Provider recovery copies may retain earlier database states for an additional recovery window, currently up to 30 days depending on the Cloudflare plan. Turning sharing off deletes unsent counts and local sharing metadata; requests already sent may already have been accepted. Combined totals contain no person identifier, so we cannot locate or erase a person's past contribution. Questions and applicable rights requests can be sent to support@knowdays.com.

Deletion

You can delete individual stays or clear the local ledger inside the app, and keep usage sharing off or turn it off at any time in Settings. Removing the app also removes its local data, subject to Apple's device backup behavior. iCloud backup files can be replaced from KnowDays and managed through your iCloud account.

Children

KnowDays is a general travel record tool and is not directed to children under 16. Because the developer does not receive app ledger data, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Purchases

KnowDays Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment and billing; the app receives only the status of your entitlement from StoreKit and never your payment details.

Website

knowdays.com is hosted on Cloudflare. It uses no cookies, analytics, advertising or third-party embeds. When you visit, Cloudflare necessarily processes your IP address and standard request information to deliver the page and protect the site against abuse; Eutopix Labs keeps no website access logs of its own (Worker logging is disabled). Cloudflare's short-lived security and infrastructure logs are governed by Cloudflare's own policies. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.

Legal bases

• Providing the app, Pro features and purchases you request (including the optional location suggestion, backup and sync you turn on): performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b).
• Optional usage sharing: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a), which you can withdraw at any time in Settings.
• Apple ad attribution signals and website delivery and security: our legitimate interest in understanding which advertising works in aggregate and in running a secure website, Art. 6(1)(f).
• Answering support emails: our legitimate interest in helping you, Art. 6(1)(f), or contract where the question concerns your purchase.
• Keeping records the law requires: legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c).

Retention

Data on your device and in your iCloud stays until you delete it. Usage-sharing retention is described above. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and then for up to 24 months, unless the law requires longer.

Recipients and international transfers

We do not sell or share personal information. The only providers involved are Apple (location, geocoding, iCloud, App Store, ad attribution) under your agreement with Apple, and Cloudflare (website hosting and, if you opt in, the usage-count collector) as our processor. Cloudflare and Apple may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States; such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict or object to its processing (including processing based on legitimate interest), to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Your trips, travellers and settings live only on your device and in your own iCloud, so we cannot see them: you can view, edit, export (JSON, CSV, PDF) and delete them yourself in the app. For anything we do hold, such as support emails, write to support@knowdays.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland, uodo.gov.pl, or with the data protection authority where you live or work.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and the only personal information we receive is described above.

Do Not Track: this site and our apps do not track you across third-party sites or services, so they behave the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
